One of the most diverse and lively neighborhoods in the country, Chicago's BOYSTOWN has something for everyone. So it's no wonder that Jesse Morgan and Cole O'Brien chose to live there upon graduating from college. Ready to begin the next phase of their lives in an exciting new city, Jesse and Cole quickly find themselves at the center of a new group of friends. Joyelle and Derek Mancini have been happily married for years, but Derek is harboring a secret that could tear them apart. Derek's brother Emmett is about to discover that his boyfriend Keith Colgan has a past that will haunt them both. Long time couple Logan Pryce and Max Taylor must face a crisis that neither of them expected. And, before they realize it, Jesse and Cole find themselves at the center of it all in the adult playground known as BOYSTOWN.

A superb character driven offering from author Jake Biondi, Boystown Season 1 has surprisingly broad appeal and delivers a real sense of place, which in part is down to Biondi’s painstakingly composed narrative. Exuding warmth, compassion and sincerity he goes beyond a voyeuristic tour of gay life to provide genuine insight into his characters, painting a believable portrait which expands their lives beyond trite sexual encounters. Anchored in this social context there's everything fans of the genre could want. There’s fun, sex, questions of self-confidence and relationship problems revolving around a fine ensemble, but readers would be hard pressed to choose a favourite character as Biondi’s fluid story arc favours a degree of complexity and integrates them so well that you’ll feel you know each one intimately as you’re quickly drawn into their lives. Yes, Boystown may be a novel and part of an evolving series that limits its focus to a specific culture, but Biondi’s acerbic pen and adroit observations are set to ensure broader appeal.

Well written and highly satisfying, Boystown Season 1 proves a great start to Biondi's series and is certainly deserving of your interest.  It is highly recommended.
