About Jenna Barwin
Jenna is the author of the Hill Vampire novels, which blend mystery, wine, and romantic spice. She has degrees in sound engineering, theology, the law, and if a degree was offered, she’d have one in the school of love. She believes in changing careers frequently enough to keep life interesting. She has worked as a circus magician, news video editor, and public law attorney (but not all at the same time). She brings those varied experiences to her writing. When not writing, she enjoys both land and underwater nature photography, and is known to occasionally attend a Victorian dance in full regalia right down to pantaloons and a hoop skirt.
AWAITING FINAL PROMOTIONAL COPY
Old enemies are back and new pacts are made in a third exciting release in the Hill Vampire Novel series which again finds Jenna Barwin on fine form. With all the back building done Cerissa Patel and Henry Bautista need little by way of introduction but they still have plenty of challenges ahead with Henry harbouring dark and painful secrets that may well be the end of their hard-won relationship. Fusing dark paranormal fantasy and romance, Barwin has clearly found her genre niche but Dark Wine At Dusk might well be the best of the Hill Vampire novels to date. Fans of the series will know all of the books are noteworthy for their strong characters and Barwin's ability to rework genre tropes to create original plots but with Karen recovering from her kidnapping by the Carlyle Cutter and Henry haunted by his past the tension is quick to build and the stakes run ever higher as tenuous truces seem ready to crumble. More, the treaty restricting the creation of new vampires is in jeopardy and with the threat of war looming the result is a fantasy romance with a core of political and social intrigue.
With a superb plot and its edgy narrative, Dark Wine At Dusk is sure to be well received by discerning fans of the genre and is recommended without reservation.
