"A Powerful and fascinating foray into the future of science and its unforeseen consequences"
A shipwreck. A lost treasure.
A hell of a race from one to the other. Brendan Le Grange has delivered a winner!
A quiet little mountain town is hiding a big problem. When the townsfolk of Raven's Peak start acting crazy, Abigail Dressler is called upon to discover the root of the evil affecting people. She uncovers a demonic threat unlike any she's ever faced and finds herself in a fight just to stay alive.
Abigail rescues Haatim Arison from a terrifying fate and discovers that he has a family legacy in the supernatural that he knows nothing about. Now she's forced to protect him, which is easy, but also to trust him if she wants to save the townsfolk of Raven's Peak. Trust, however, is something hard to have for someone who grew up living on the knife's edge of danger.
An atmospheric paranormal thriller that does the genre proud, Raven's Peak is the latest release from Columbus based author Lincoln Cole. Fielding a plot that works with diabolical effectiveness, this isn’t your run of the mill offering with Cole delivering characters that are both mysterious and compelling. Genre tropes are evident throughout, the action comes fast and furious, there’s the obligatory blood and gore, but it’s not gratuitous with Cole being sure to touch the right emotional chords. It seems a failing of the genre that far too often the atmosphere is layered to the point where it becomes ponderous and impenetrable, but in developing his narrative Cole demonstrates an unerring understanding of what will unsettle his readers. The chills and thrills are pitched just right, to cause a tingling at the nape of the neck, taking time to maintain suspense whilst fully sculpting his darkest moments for maximum impact. This is the payback that creates such a rich dark atmosphere and one which will leave readers biting their nails.
With all the hallmarks of a top notch paranormal fantasy, Raven's Peak is sure to be well received by avid fans of the genre and beyond whilst garnering much interested in the works of Lincoln Cole. It is recommended without reservation.
